Pokémon Colosseum (Japanese: ポケモンコロシアム Pokémon Colosseum) was released on the Nintendo GameCube on November 21, 2003 at Japan, March 22, 2004 from North America, and May 14, 2004 in Europe. The game followed the basic stadium style battling found in the Pokémon Stadium games, but additional gameplay has been contained in the form of an RPG story mode comparable to the core series, which allowed players to capture Generation II and Generation III Pokémon from the desolate region of Orre.

Plot

Upon reaching the new place, a pair of shady men and women are only leaving the town having a noisy, wriggling sofa . Once they see they’ve been captured, one of those goons, Folly, begins a conflict with the player. Following defeat, both individuals get away, leaving the sofa unattended. A woman emerges in the bag after some difficulty undoing the knot, and then claim to have noticed the kidnappers utilize some sort of strange looking Pokémon. The woman becomes the player’s spouse and both go to find that the Mayor to clear up things. A peculiar man bumps into the participant as he leaves the Mayor’s office, even forecasting that he will observe the participant sometime in the future. The player and spouse then put in the home as the woman proceeds to alert the Mayor of weird Pokémon which have a dark setting and strike individuals. The Mayor assures the team he will start looking into this situation, and suggests visiting the town’s Stadium. At the doorway of the Arena, a few Snagem members understand that the participant as the traitor who blew their foundation. A conflict with these disagrees, and upon defeat, the woman tells the player that she does not take care of the past, however she does encourage purchasing some Poké Balls for potential use. Following this scene, the woman, Rui, becomes the participant’s permanent companion, and will adhere to the player during the length of this game.The game begins with an opening scene depicting the player stealing equipment in the closely guarded headquarters of Team Snagem, and then moving to flee having an Espeon and Umbreon as the base explodes. After riding on a peculiar one-wheeled motorcycle for some time, the participant stops at the dilapidated gas station of Outskirt Stand. From that point, the player and spouse will travel all over the Orre region, battling Trainers, snagging Shadow Pokémon, also uncovering the disastrous plan of this secret organization, Cipher. This dishonest group and its ambitious admins are the founders of Shadow Pokémon, closing their hearts to fortify their stats. The player eventually learns how to reverse the effects of this procedure, and has to catch all Cipher’s Shadow Pokémon to hamper the evil mastermind behind everything. After defeating Miror B in Pyrite Cave, Dakim at Mt. Battle, Venus in The Under and Ein at the Shadow Pokémon Laboratory, the participant goes to Realgam Tower; after beating the Admins again, Gonzap comes out and shows that Cipher gave Team Snagem the Snag Machines; and then that Snagem gave the Pokémon into Cipher, who created Shadow Pokémon; meaning that this was one master plan hatched by Cipher. After defeating Snagem, Nascour–the manager of Cipher–is defeated by the participant. Afterwards, it is shown that Phenac City’s mayor Es Cade is really Evice, the real supervisor of Cipher. After he is defeated, he attempts to escape; however, luckily, a Ho-Oh uses Holy Fire to stop him, saving the evening.

Even with all the true leader of Cipher under arrest, there’s still a post-ending to be completed. Secc, from the Kids Grid, emails the player information about a few interesting characters who end up telling the player about several points of interest. Eventuallythe Snagem Hideout becomes available for exploration, the Shadow Pokémon Laboratory gets some Cipher refugees to combat, along with a hidden Stadium from the Under is brought to the participant’s interest. Lastly, after each of the Shadow Pokémon are snagged, the participant will be informed of a Trainer that’s attacking people with the other Shadow Pokémon, that supposedly looks exactly like the player. After the backup’s defeat, there are still Colosseum struggles to be obtained plus a Ho-Oh to be obtained in Battle Mode.

Purification

Pokémon from the game could be purified in many different means.

  • Walking round using Shadow Pokémon in the party.
  • Battling with them calling out once the Pokémon reaches its own Hyper Mode.
  • Putting a Shadow Pokémon at the Pokémon Day Care in Agate Village.

When the Heart Gauge reaches the point at which it states”The Pokémon’s heart is going to start! Undo the final lock!” , Trainers would go to the Agate Village shrine and use its capacity to revive the Pokémon’s center and remove the movement known as Shadow Rush.
